The possible reason the deal (sort of) works

Democrats don't have control, but they voted to move forward and in good faith that the GOP will have a DACA vote.

Of course, nobody trusts the GOP, but if the GOP doesn't come through we are back to square one and THERE WAS A DEAL TO HAVE A VOTE

Democrats can point to that.

It may not play out that way, but I'm thinking out loud here...

rely on CHIP, and the Republicans' failure to fund CHIP would have been news that embarrassed Republicans.

This is a huge strategic mistake -- typical for the cowardly Democrats we have elected to Congress.

If you are in Congress and you don't want to be primaried, show a little courage please.

The Republicans would have come around.

Democrats acted cowardly and then want us to vote for them.

Good luck!

to threaten us with.

If there is no good deal on DACA in 3 weeks and another shutdown happens, repug incompetence at

governing will again be shown as they run all three branches of government and can't keep the doors open.

Because our elected Democratic representatives don't have the courage to stand up for what they know is right.

The Republicans play games with high stakes, and the Democrats flinch every time.

At least my senators, Feinstein and Harris as well as Sanders did not flinch. I think Gillibrand was also on the no-flinch list.

The Republicans would have funded CHIP or looked to their voters like monsters.

Democrats flinched. Cowards every one who voted for this bandaid.

In 3 wks if there is no good deal, there will be another shutdown. Think more than one jump ahead

and into future implications of what's riding on the repugs being shown once again to not to be able to

keep the government up and running even though they control all three branches.

rhetoric that pops up in the next ten days. If the Koch Brothers anti Dem Machine goes after Warren and Harris, then you know there will be zero chance for DACA. First to slam should be Fox of course and followed by the likes of Chuckie Toad.
