Ever notice how Megyn Kelly - and everyone else who says "Hanoi Jane" - never want to bash the civilian politicians who sent 58,000 Americans to die in that war; just a young actress' naive protest of it.

(13,594 posts)in that. That show is really good and most like the old Lou Grant show than any I can think of. It's funny that the old guy that is I guess the network managing editor is named Charlie. Lou's editor was also an older guy named Charlie. Both Charlies stressing out about having to meet with the big boss lady. Really almost exactly the same character.

So she's been "back" for quite a while.
Or she (Jane Fonda) and others could respond by saying, "Ever notice how Megyn Kelly -and everyone else who says "Hanoi Jane" - never bash the Republican politicians and celebrities who supported the war while getting multiple deferments.

(11,257 posts)He had on Fonda (and Lily Tomlin) for a good interview, but before it started he praised her for doing something, anything, to fight the war and the old men who were thoughtlessly sending thousands of young men to die in the jungle fighting people who had never done anything to harm us.
He was extremely sincere. The next day he read a letter from a military man who had his undies in a bunch about Jane Fonda. Stern re-iterated his respect and gratitude for the people in the armed forces - and his extreme gratitude for the civilians who laid it on the line to protect the military from being used in an unjust and unjustifiable war.
