"Voter ID, which is going to allow Gov. Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania: Done."

That was said by a Republican leader in PA state House Republican - Rep. Mike Turzai

He didn't say to ensure that votes are valid
He didn't say to ensure accurate election results
He said it was to allow Romeny to win Pennsylvania.

I think the ONLY people committing voter fraud in Pennsylvania are the Republicans that passed this wretched bill including pedophile enabler Governor Tom Corbett.

heavier criminal penalties (jail time and fines) for anyone committing such an act.

PA (or anywhere) could even have a poster outside the voting booths to that effect:

Warning. Voter fraud is punishable by up to X months/years in prision and up to $X in penalties.

Added on edit:

If the Republicans really want to stop voter fraud without limiting anyone's rights (one of our most important rights as citizens of a democracy, in fact), they would do well to consider that approach.

That probably got the DOJ to move a little faster in looking at the law, and the law that would have closed Mississippi's last clinic that offers abortion services was being couched as some sort of safety rule was blocked by a judge after state republicans started bragging that they had finally found a way to outlaw abortion.
