Schumer Withdraws Offer for Funding Border Wall

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) “is taking his big spending boost for Donald Trump’s border wall off the table,” Politico reports.

“The Senate minority leader, through an aide, informed the White House on Monday that he was retracting the offer he made last week to give Trump well north of the $1.6 billion in wall funding Trump had asked for this year, according to two Democrats. And now they say Trump will simply not get a better deal than that on his signature campaign promise.”

But McConnell is on record saying that DACA would be dealt with. A gift to Democrats actually for attack ads for the Midterms those Republicans running for the Senate.

We will have to see.

are "home" in a country they have never lived, some of them likely hurt killed as a result of the conditions that may have triggered their parents' move to the US in the fist place - or as a result of not understanding the different conditions in their "home"land. Deporting Dreamers is not a gift - we're supposed to be better than that; we need to put people's lives over party and stop talking about the political gains this move gained us.

It would be like relying on the preznit's word: it will be broken whenever it suits him/them.

Schumer knows full well the Rethugs in the House will not let DACA proceed. He is forcing Trump and his so called Congressional Leaders to finally put up or shut up.

Campaign Season kicks off on April 1,unoffically. Perez and the DNC read the results of the weekend Marches and Rallies. Despite what the MSM is propagandizing, the Blue Wave is becoming a Tsunami.

Trump’s goal is to get a budget deal without signing a DACA deal. He knows his base of nazi’s would love that.

Watch in coming weeks while he postures for a spending bill signed for an unsigned DACA “commitment”. Then he will renig on his commitment.

The only way the dreamers will get legal status with a path to citizenship from Trump is if it is signed as part of or ahead of the spending bill. Dems have to stand their ground or the dreamers are screwed.

13. Good. This is what should be done when dealing with a disingenuous negotiator.

I spent my career negotiating for my company with the management teams of other companies. Trump’s behavior in this “negotiation” was laughable to all experienced negotiators. He has zero negotiation skills. Schumer should dump him from the negotiation altogether and focus on McConnell. Going over to the White House is a waste of time.
