Well...maybe not. Think about this.
With minimal drama and no discernible leaks, Robert Mueller and his "team" (considerably more worthy of the characterization "administration" than the entire executive branch or any part thereof has exhibited) has managed to skillfully navigate the most turbid of political waters. Mueller has brought a host of domestic principals to an initial account (more yet to come) in the matter of Russian interference and GOP/Trump family/Trump campaign collusion.
Whether through subpoena, indictment, or otherwise, Robert Mueller is--at this moment--skillfully exercising the long hand of justice in holding to account some of the most despicable operatives the continental North American political scene has ever witnessed--notwithstanding ANY the so-called "banana republics" (to employ a nationalistic, ethnocentric label) of Central America have engendered).
Consider...How perplexing is this moment, historically? This is astounding; to have a relatively fragile "special counsel" investigator situated amidst the intense dynamic of a dysfunctional separation of powers among governmental branches--and still function.
This moment--and Mueller's handing of it--is nothing short of extraordinary.
Seriously...this is some major, big time, check and balance against an existential threat to the nation. (And Adam Schiff for VP!)

(15,805 posts)Mueller is an extraordinary investigator, a superb lawyer and he's dedicated to the FBI, but why would you think he's even remotely interested in a new career as a novice politician at the age of 74?

(1,606 posts)Mueller's steady commitment to our nation's systemic checks exemplifies the highest regard for the protection of constitutional principles--central of which is rule of law--in the face of extraordinary existential threats, the nature of which the Founders could not conceive.
This commitment to foundational concepts (but interpreted in germane 21st century context) is the principled attitude that (I hope) our Democratic candidate can reflect and communicate in 2020.
As an example, Mueller can inform us, don't you think?
