BALTIA AIRLINES bites the dust.....again.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY
WASHINGTON, D.C.

Issued by the Department of Transportation on the 24th day of January, 2018
In the matter of the revocation of the certificate authority issued to BALTIA AIR LINES, INC. pursuant to the provisions of 14 CFR 204.7
Docket DOT-OST-2007-0007
ORDER REVOKING CERTIFICATE AUTHORITY

Summary
By this order, we revoke for dormancy the certificate of public convenience and necessity issued to Baltia Air Lines, Inc. (“Baltia”) by Order 2009-3-7 authorizing it to engage in scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property, and mail

Baltia Airlines was founded in 1989 to provide flights between the US and the Soviet Union. In 29 years it has never successfully flown a commercial flight. It has purchased several used 747 aircraft and has never been able to certify them. Meanwhile, you can still apparently trade their stock.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say perhaps this was a money laudering operation? nt Tommy_Carcetti Jan 2018 #2

Although if no one has any money, it's kind of hard to do that, isn't it?
