I am listening to the judge read a statement he wrote. It is so sick. This man is a monster. He is a psychopath who does not see the humanity of his victims.
How was it that this guy was allowed to remain the U.S. Gymnastic team doctor and employed by Michigan State University? How did this happen?

(17,305 posts)I don't have a hint of sympathy for that sick SOB. That said, this judge is going on at length and is injecting too much about her own life history and her philosophy. It makes me nervous that she's going to inadvertently say something that will open the door to a mistrial. If this guy were to get off on a technicality it would be a HUGE travesty.

(70,121 posts)man, she laid it out, and for the life of me i cant imagine a male judge making those statements, or running the trial the way she did.

(10,831 posts)quite nicely with his credentials, his experience and what I imagine was a professional, pleasant veneer.
Until one day he couldn't talk his way out of 'an awkward misunderstanding.'
I did not listen to today's proceedings but I have read several of the young girl's histories and their years of abuse. The record is disgusting and perverted. He abused not only their bodies but their athletic dreams. He obviously felt no guilt in the process which can only lead one to conclude that the man is a frigging sociopath.
He deserved everything he got.

(50,278 posts)The most disturbing thing I heard in that hearing is that the little girls complained to adults and the adults didn't believe them.

(63,215 posts)The other most disturbing thing is that Nasser abused children while the parents were in the room! He positioned is body to block their view as he violated these children, as if the risk of discover were part of the thrill for him.
Vile.

Not stunning.
He's gone forever, and that's that.
