What would be the easiest way to scale Trump's Wall ?

Trump’s Imaginary Wall has varied in height from 20 feet tall to 55 feet tall. Up to about 20 feet, the easiest way to scale it would be a fixed ladder to the top, and a rope ladder to the bottom - at a cost of less than $50.

Beyond that, a good used fire truck would be good for up to 75 to 100 feet. So a smuggler (of drugs or people) could simply buy a used firetruck for less than $200,000, store it in a building on the Mexican side during the day, drive it to Trump’s Imaginary Wall at night, get the truck in position, raise the ladder, send someone up to drop a rope ladder over, and USA here we come.

Out in the desert section of the border, a whole crew of smugglers or illegals could get over Trump’s Rhetorical Wall before the Border Patrol got to the ladders, by which time the fire truck would be heading back to its hideout.

If there was a metal barrier at top of the wall, the first person up the ladder would take bolt cutters or a cutting torch.

Or just free climb it. That works too.

As long as there are employers who are willing to hire illegal immigrants, they will find a way to get here. If the repubs were serious about ending that they would fine the heck out of very employer caught doing so. Of course, that would create a lot of unintended consequences, crops rotting in the fields, rising costs for goods and services because employers would have to pay fair wages. They would have to comply with safety regulations because their employees wouldn't be terrified of being deported if they filed a complaint against their employer. The "immigration problem" will not be solved until the underlying economic forces that drive it are addressed. I'm not holding my breath on that.

TV Networks Refused to Air Satirical Spot for New Camera

By Lindsay Stein. Published on June 23, 2016.

http://adage.com/article/agency-news/360fly-builds-trump-wall-parody-video-highlight-camera/304665/

The video was shot by three-time Academy Award-winning cinematographer Bob Richardson, who has filmed movies such as Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained" and "Inglourious Basterds," according to a 360fly statement.

To build buzz around its immersive video camera, startup 360fly has released a video poking fun at Donald Trump's absurd plan to build a wall on the border of Mexico to keep immigrants from entering the U.S.
The 60-second spot, created by 180LA, shows an audience member using the 360fly 4K 360-degree video camera to film Mr. Trump revealing the wall, but the lens picks up more than the Republican presidential candidate's calculated comb-over.

It shows a barrage of immigrants -- including a mariachi band member and street vendors -- crossing the border through a tunnel under ..

Invading Tatars broke through the Great Wall of China in 1550, followed by the Mongols a century later. Hadrian's wall in England was breached by northern Pict tribes in the third century. The Berlin Wall stood for 30 years as the concrete manifestation of communism over the democracy, but ordinary citizens tore it down in 1989, and thousands of people breached that wall.

Walls are a status symbol, an egotistical display of raw power, much like unzipping your pants and showing off your junk. By building the damn thing, Trump and his hardliner Republicans are telling foreign "barbarians" that they, and they alone, have the power and the chutzpah to do this monstrous thing... so nyaah-nyaah!

Trump's wall probably won't be built because its an inefficient waste of money and personnel, but even so, people will find ways to breach the barrier.

crossed North of it.

The Maginot Line was impervious to most forms of attack, including aerial bombings and tank fire, and had underground railways as a backup; it also had state-of-the-art living conditions for garrisoned troops, supplying air conditioning and eating areas for their comfort.[1] Instead of attacking directly, the Germans invaded through the Low Countries, bypassing the Line to the north. French and British officers had anticipated this: when Germany invaded the Netherlands and Belgium, they carried out plans to form an aggressive front that cut across Belgium and connected to the Maginot Line. However, the French line was weak near the Ardennes forest. The French believed this region, with its rough terrain, would be an unlikely invasion route of German forces; if it was traversed, it would be done at a slow rate that would allow the French time to bring up reserves and counterattack. The German Army, having reformulated their plans from a repeat of the First World War-era plan, became aware of and exploited this weak point in the French defensive front. A rapid advance through the forest and across the River Meuse encircled much of the Allied forces, resulting in a sizeable force being evacuated at Dunkirk leaving the forces to the south unable to mount an effective resistance to the German invasion of France.[2]

The line has since become a metaphor for expensive efforts that offer a false sense of security.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maginot_Line

Trump needs to brush up on his military history or at least his French history. Surely his generals can warn him that walls can be circumvented in all kinds of ways.

What a boondoggle. What a waste of money. Trump's wall.

I went camping on the Kaiparowits Plateau. From the top you can see the hole-in-the-rock trail the Mormon Pioneers forged. While standing at the top I was awestruck at the sheer determination it must have taken those rugged people. I was so impressed.

Then I read the plaque that explained their plight. Come to find out their motivating factor was to setup to keep outsiders out. Damn...that diminished all of that.

The point is, if the Mormon settlers managed the hole-in-the-rock those seeking a better life will manage a wall.
