"I find that you don't get it -- that you're a danger. You remain a danger," she said to Nassar.
The last witness to speak at Nassar's sentencing hearing was Rachael Denhollander, a Kentucky lawyer and one of the first women to publicly identify herself as one of Nassar's young victims. Denhollander contacted Michigan State University police in 2016 after reading reports about how USA Gymnastics, which trains Olympians, mishandled complaints of sexual misconduct. Nassar worked at Michigan State and also was the national gymnastics squad's doctor.

(27,813 posts)I firmly believe that we need to find out why people - especially sexual predators - behave as they do. Otherwise, how do we prevent the cycle of abuse?
I thought of this recently when one of Gary Sandusky's sons was arrested for sexual abuse of children. The guy probably never had a chance. Who knows what happened to him when he was young?

Same with this guy. He's not like "us" in the general sense of the herd. Think of it this way; just as we can't understand how/why he could do this, he can't understand why we're so aghast at it.

(11,096 posts)I fought back tears as Assistant Attorney General Angela Povilaitis spoke. The judge was brutal, Dr. Larry Nassau was sickening. Perhaps this is a turning point....
