... would be stupid enough to believe that if there was some nefarious "secret society" operating within the FBI, staffers would actually be emailing each other about it?
The answer is: Republicans.
I know that because whenever the question is "who the fuck would be stupid enough ...", the answer is always Republicans.

(115,735 posts)Oh, wait; yes, I can believe that. I think it was last night on one of the talk shows that Charlie Sykes, a recovering GOPer from Wisconsin, commented that he couldn't understand why Senator Ron Johnson actually thought the "secret society" was a real thing - he'd always thought Johnson was more level-headed than that. Apparently those who drink Trump's Kool-Aid go stupid pretty fast.
And yes, of course you don't call your secret society a secret society. You call it a book club or band practice or something, because, hello, if you talked about it, it wouldn't be secret.

(22,976 posts)They long ago realized that theres mileage in stoking fear, suspicion and anger. Some of their greatest hits:
-1940s: Should have fought Stalin, not Hitler!
-1950s: Communist infiltration! Filthy beatniks! Communist sympathizers! Theyre sneaking anti-American messages into textbooks and movies!
-1960s: Blacks are getting uppity! Bearded hippy freaks! Blacks with guns! Well be murdered in our beds by Charlie Manson! Southeast Asia will fall like dominoes! Make an enemies list now!
1970s: Nixon was railroaded! Law and order! Liberals are taking over!
1980s: Yeah! Ronnie R. killed the Fairness Doctrine! Now we can spread our message on radio! Liberals will tax you into the poorhouse! Liberals are soft! Liberal is a dirty word, so is government! Women are slaughtering the unborn! Angela Davis is a commie stooge! Willie Horton is the average black man!!!
1990s: Whitewater, Vince Foster was murdered, Monica, the blue dress, the American people deserve to know! Impeachment over covering up a consensual blow job.
2000s: Forget commies, its Islamofascism! Liberals aid and abet terrorists!
2010s: Most everyone knows this one.
You get the ugly picture. They never tire, they never stop.

(2,957 posts)I'd like to see a leak of some of the texts of conservative agents (likely the majority of the FBI). I'll bet they are rife with anti-Hillary, anti-Democratic sentiment.
It's a pity we don't have liberal hackers on our side. Only the Russians, Chinese and those feeding Wikileaks seem to be able to dig up dirt - and it's almost all anti-Democratic and anti-liberal.
I think if we could see what RNC members are emailing to each other, Republicans would go down to being a 25% party at the national level and it would be decades before they saw a majority in congress again. I'd bet there's filth in the RNC's computers outlining a permanent and completely un-democratic takeover of all government in the US with an agenda that is the opposite of "freedom". The hypocrisy exposed would be so huge that college logic professors' heads would explode.
C'mon, enlightened IT people. We need a little help here.
