they put together a league about 20 years ago offering basically what they thought was a more "manly" version of football. because i guess they thought watching guys bash their brains together until they die of CTE wasn't macho enough. it featured some different rules, cameras in the cheerleader lockerrooms, etc. it was a horrific flop and the league folded. a few players were good enough that they actually signed on with NFL teams.

i'm sure the new version will promise no rules to cut down on "big hits", more skimpy dressed cheerleaders and of course "all players must stand for the anthem".

they are seeing a weakening of the NFL's brand because NFL players dared to stand up to many fans' God (drumpf) and moving in to try and capture that low IQ audience.

Big game college Football ratings are surging. NFL not so much. Much better pre-game experience and more exciting game atmosphere

It's slower, too "coachy", and is, today, highly dependent upon the fact that on the same size field, defenders who are never sniffing the NFL, or CFL, or Arena League, can't cover that much ground. That makes it the minor leagues to me.

I honestly don't get the attraction of rooting for a team from a school one did not attend. I guess i can see it in the south 40 years ago or more when there were no teams in Atlanta, the Carolinas, New Orelans, and only one team in FL. The regional aspect of rooting for someone you could actually get in the car to go see makes sense i guess. But i don't get it once there were no longer regional voids in the NFL.
