What might be Mueller's state of mind in all of this?

I know he is a consummate professional. I know that as a prosecutor, he is a machine. I know he is a straight arrow interested in following facts and doing his job. I know he eschews publicity, preferring to do the job for the job's sake.

But this may well be the singularly most important thing he has ever done in his long and storied career.

Keep in mind, his first charge was finding out if and how the Russians interfered in our elections. Many (me included) see that interference as an actual act of war, the lack of gunpowder notwithstanding. The goal of that act of war is to destabilize our government. Played its logical end, that would involve the end of our country as an independent entity.

That puts Mueller on the point of the lead column marching in our defense.

He is, of course, very aware of this.

I can tell you I am not made of sufficiently strong stuff as to endure such pressure.

So how is that playing in his most private moments?

I'm certain he is up to the job . . . . and more.

Is he prepared to - perhaps - literally be responsible for saving the country? I say yes. How would that make a person feel?

He’ll go where the facts lead him, even if they somehow don’t implicate Trump.

Mueller has proved his dedication to serving our country and was awarded a Bronze Star Medal with Combat "V" for heroism and a Purple Heart.

Then, he was one among many thousands serving.

Now, he is the point man, the guy leading the effort to save our democracy.

He’s made for this moment.

The reality tv clown in the Oval Office is no match for Mueller.

They just do what is right when the moment requires action. It's more instinct coupled with moral compass.

I expect the war was tougher than what he is doing now. His mettle has been tested. 🙂

He was injured. He won the Bronze Star. Which means he saw some shit and did things most of us would be incapable of doing.

And he was raised with money. He could have obtained college deferment or had a medical condition like, I do not know, bone spurs.

He is fine.

And will do what an honorable man feels is right.

It's a hard thing for a retired Army officer to say but Mueller is a combat veteran US Marine. He's lived through worse than this. He will do his duty - period.

Semper Fidelis!

Just like some mentioned here, he was wounded in war, he healed up and went back to lead his men. He will do the same here. This isn't going away, but dodart is!!
