I have no intention of watching the orange creature read misinformation, spin, and outright lies, all written by others, off a teleprompter.
Do you suppose some Democrat will yell out "You Lie!" while he's speaking?*
TV news and online videos will show endless reruns, so that's when I'll catch the highlights of whatever crap he spews.
I would hope that every Democrat present would stand up and walk out on his very first, obvious lie. But you know they won't do it. "Respect for The Office" and all that. In truth, they wouldn't be walking out on "The Office." They'd be walking out on the peach-colored beast who has soiled it.
So what about you? Gonna' get some popcorn and watch the criminal read some words? The irony is that the actual meaning of whatever he reads is beyond him.
*(A Republican congressman named Joe Wilson did that to Obama in 2009, during a speech to a joint session of congress. My guess is that Wilson had a problem with a president who wasn't white.)

(3,194 posts)And the Democrats are too Cowardly to outright boycott the speech, except for a couple of the usual suspects with a spine like John Lewis & Maxine Waters.

(190 posts)Ive always found them to be nothing more than glorified campaign speeches (spin, BS, etc), but with the added game of watching one side stand up and cheer while the other side sits on their hands.

A little part of me wants to watch to see him take the train off the cliff but I don't think I could watch without being a very poor example to my child. Mama has a potty mouth when it comes to the Tangeranus.

(52,253 posts)it was a lame and predictable speech, read uninspiringly.
and cnbc had all these people on saying it was a great speech, very presidential,
i've paid my dues.
i'll watch the highlight reels if there are any bloopers or protests.

(420 posts)what a gift.....NOT!! I am counting on Kennedy to give a pointed, direct, sound bite filled (that can be easily reported and repeated) response for my gift!!
Unfortunately, the sheeples will believe anything and any direct affront ("you lie" type outbursts) to the Orange Turd will cause a huge defensive reaction from the blind righties. I do hope the Dems will not stand or applaud at ANYHTING the micropenis says. Just sit there and shake their heads at any lie or ridiculous point he makes.
Not watching, but will watch replay of Kennedy.

(15,041 posts)but you know it will never happen. Decorum, decency, respect for "The Office," etc.
Just once, I'd like to see the Dems give the orange creature a taste of his own crap.
Oh, and have a Happy Birthday despite Peach Turd's reading of the SOTU.

(3,194 posts)The Democrats are a bunch of pussies. If they had even the slightest bit of courage, they would boycott the speech entirely. There is no requirement for them to be present.
Funny how our side has "respect" for the office, but the "president" has no respect for them.

(9,350 posts)I am still debating whether or not to watch. A part of me wants to watch just to see what his says and to be a good informed citizen. Another part of me wants to avoid the speech. I will have to make a decision soon.
I do not think any Democrat will yell out during the speech. I also do not think any Democrat should walk out of the speech. I think that would give Donald Trump and the Republicans the chance to attack the Democrats as being partisan and sore losers. They should just stay and look like the more professional party.
