(52,162 posts)In NC the county and state election boards have a majority that is the same party as the governor (the state board is appointed by him or her). When Cooper won the legislature passed a law that changed this. They made the boards evenly divided and required a 2/3 super majority to make any changes. This would have locked in the suppression that they put in, in 2016. This will let early voting be expanded in counties such as Wake and Mecklenburg (Raleigh and Charlotte). Oh, and it can't be appealed. This is great.

Always quite interested in North Carolina.. I was thrilled like everyone when Cooper won!
