In the presidential horserace, Obama leads Romney by six percentage points among registered voters, 49 percent to 43 percent.
Thats a slight change within the margin of error from last months poll, which showed Obama ahead by three points, 47 percent to 44 percent.

In a smaller sample of registered voters living in 12 battleground states (Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin), the incumbent presidents lead over Romney is eight points, 49 to 41, which is essentially unchanged from June.

(9,118 posts)My guess is that if Anne Dunham had married, say, a Lebanese, the President's poll ratings would probably be in the sixty percent range. You'd still have that one third of right-wingnut crazy that would hate anyone to the left of Jefferson Davis and John C. Calhoun.

(602 posts)Here's an amazing article by Dr. Brian Moench, a member of the Union of Concerned Scientists. He is, or was, a Mormon who knew Romney from the "early years" and watched his assent through the Mormon Church. According to Dr. Boench, Romney is NOT a good Mormon, far from it.
