Perjury Panic at the White House

I can't overstate the level of anxiety among sources close to Trump after the president told the NYT's Maggie Haberman last week he was willing and eager to submit himself to a live interview under oath with Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

What I'm hearing: One source, who knows Trump as well as anyone, told me he believes the president would be incapable of avoiding perjuring himself. "Trump doesn't deal in reality," the source said. "He creates his own reality and he actually believes it." (The president's attorney, Ty Cobb, did not respond to a request for comment.)

A number of people in the president's orbit have read this article by Bloomberg's Timothy O'Brien: "I've Watched Trump Testify Under Oath. It Isn't Pretty."

so since his mental faculties are fully intact there is no acceptable excuse for his manipulative pathological lying

It doesn't even rule out dementia - my spouse (on two alzheimer's medications) routinely passes it.

Not to say that he has an excuse, just that the "mental statuts exam" means nothing.

people would believe he honestly believes what he said. However, with charges of obstruction, I don't think he could be so convincing. His repetitive actions prove he was doing everything he could think of to make this investigation go away, and he won't be able to lie them away.

Like how he said during the campaign that Melania would hold a press conference in a week about her immigration, or that he would release his taxes after the "audit" was done. The false promises are part of the cyclone of conman bullshit.

Hopefully, Mueller will subpoena him and RECORD AND TELEVISE the proceedings, the same way Ken Starr did with Bill Clinton. The precedent is there, I really wish Mueller would use that standard, but I think Mueller will negotiate away the recorded and televised part.

I love how Shitgibbon and his lawyers think they can "negotiate terms of the interview" as if Mueller worked for GQ and not the FBI.

Mueller has subpoena power, has all the power and it won't be an interview.
