(2,977 posts)This is my congressmen, and it's Northern New Jersey. He would probably lose this year if he ran, now it's almost certainly a Dem pickup.

(9,874 posts)I think Dems have a good chance to win it but it is no shoe-in. Trump won in Morris by a whisker, 49-48, but that is Republican country for sure

(11,175 posts)The shift would be toward the Dems. Despite the composition of the district, Frelinghuysen had a lot of personal popularity and name recognition. (His father was also Congressman Frelinghuysen.)
I thought this would be a very tough pickup. If it's an open seat, it will be much easier.
