Of course it'll turn out to be true. Actually, everyone pretty much knows that already, media included.
The Republicans are in a bad hole; and since climbing up and exposing them to the light is completely out of the question, trying to dig their way out in the darkness is their choice. Not completely stupid. Deceiving the public has served them very well so far, and they're experts at it.
