Threads in GD are as chaotic as Trump Presidency -

I've posted twice before that IMO we need a separate forum on Trump/Russia matters. Both times my request was not approved.

GD is now like the Trump presidency. Full of lots of different threads that don't relate to each other - stories as varied as people gunned down at car washes to firing at FBI to Swedish investigations against Russian lawyers, etc. to lots and lots of opinions on what is happening (so repeating posts about stories) to people repeating a post on a story that has already been posted about but was pushed off the home page. People are literally posting new threads to get attention because items fall off home page so rapidly.

It's chaos. No ability to catch up on investigations and developments in any methodical way.

Please let's have new forum on Trump/Russia and now new forum on Elections 2018.

Please. DU becoming unusable.

Instead of rushing to post something that is already posted. It would sure calm things down and get responses/ discussion consolidated.

thinking nobody here would post it.

It’s annoying when there’s anything remotely newsworthy happens, there are 10 separate threads created within the first hour about the exact same thing.

GD has become a dumping ground for everything. It moves so fast that good, important topics are too quickly buried, lost and forgotten. There's no rhyme or reason for the variety of topics tossed on that chaotic heap.

Given all the listed topics at DU, there should be a more relevant, and updated selection of topics offered. I would not support a topic labeled Trump/Russia as it's too narrowly focused and limited, but maybe just a new category for all discussions about the president, and another for politics in general, and also one for current event news of a non political nature. Let GD be a catch all for miscellaneous topics that are not related to news about either the president or current events.

It's an election year and talk of candidates/primaries are going to get absolutely lost without it.
