The GOP is better off not releasing the memo at this point.

That way they can keep claiming it's a bombshell but was buried by the "dark state". If it comes out, it will be known as Nunes' fart. Trump's followers will believe anything.

lies I mean message got out there. We've muddied the waters. We can use this we don't want to expose this classified info as cover to not release it. I'm not sure the inmates would go for this. They are desperate for something tangible. This is like the what 10th scandal that they've manufactured this year? The base needs red meat, it's feeding time.

on FISA overreach and spying on American citizens.

The memo doesn't have to be good. Only good enough to remove Rosenstein for submitting the FISA warrant on Carter Page ( actually a renewal ).

It's not to get rid of Mueller or Wray... just Rosenstein so that Trump can name a replacement.

is Trump won't get a toady replacement through the senate. McConnell only has 51 votes. One of those is McCain who's back in AZ and may never return. Thad Cochran has also missed votes due to ongoing health issues. Another is Jeff Flake who's not only retiring, but has made at least 2 speeches very critical of Trump. Corker's another retiree who might not go along. To me, that means McConnell simply doesn't have a working majority to confirm anyone if Dems don't agree.

If Red Don fires Mueller he'll lose 15% of their base support

They don't have a huge base to begin with

House, does anyone know if the Democrats could read their memo on the floor of the House, even if they didn't get it officially declassified ? Would they be stopped ?

let it be read out on the floor of the House, but while still classified, (presumably) Nunes couldn't be indicted for it. The feeling was the Trump would want to be hands off, and let another fool take the heat.

Nunes: : “With an abundance of respect for our intelligence people in the field, I’m going to withhold the memo. They shouldn’t pay a price for their bosses politicizing their agencies.”

The concept of the memo would live on.
