Joe is doing what he can to explain what's going down, and the dangers, in what the Repubs are doing with this FBI memo thing, and the harm it could cause.
Sen Blumenthal (D) was on briefly, stating he's hearing some serious concerns from Senators about what's happening w/this memo, incl. some Republicans. Blumenthal is not on the Intel Committee, so he's not speaking about that committee.

(51,607 posts)is stupid and crazy since the FBI is a tight, loyal group and to make them the enemy is unwise. Also they have all the secrets and dirt on everyone, including the Fucking Moron.

(47,482 posts)whenever I heard someone go after the FBI. Whether you like them or hate them, you still should fear them, unless you have absolutely nothing to hide. If there is anyone besides Putin, who can screw up your life, that would probably be the FBI.
They are taunting a dangerous dog and undoubtedly motivating them to work harder and dig deeper every day.

(23,102 posts)He's not worried about the FBI because he intends to fire them all and hire unqualified loyalists, probably folks recommended by Putin for max destruction to the system.

(26,044 posts)...and replace anyone in control with a loyalist. Personally, I can't say such a task would be impossible with a Republican Congress to back him up.

(7,768 posts)listed point after point, all of his lies. He is calling Paul Ryan a liar.

(6,399 posts)And he's continuing to express utter bafflement as to why any of them are going along with this. It's fascinating to watch unfold.
The bafflement part is what I'm appreciating because it's how a lot of us feel but so few pundits actively admit.

(15,740 posts)It's blatantly obvious the Republican Party is infested with traitors to the country.

(6,399 posts)they're still trying to look for the actual reason why they're acting like this.

(47,482 posts)Or maybe they've been infested by Pod People. As much as I thoroughly disagree with most of them, I thought there were some who were decent people, who believed in their country and democratic values.
I've never seen anything like it. It reminds of that TV show from a year ago called "Brain Dead" where extraterrestrial insects were eating the brains of members of congress.

(6,286 posts)Anonymous or otherwise. Sound the fucking alarm bell if you are a member of Congress with a bully pulpit. We have a bona fide Russian agent in the White House destroying us from within, in plain sight and not-so-slow motion. Our enemies are stronger, our allies hate us, our intelligence partners at home and abroad are about to declare us persona non grata. Concern should be in the rear view mirror.

(1,015 posts)Democrats can editorialize but until they have irrefuitable facts to back up their opinion they will not carry the same weight in a public forum like the Republicans you mention. Democrats can and should present the facts but they cannot do it at the same decibel level and have the same impact.

(14,564 posts)anything a Dems says is dismissed out of hand ...
I appreciate that everyone other than Scarborough is doing, they are good people and all who have seen the light and are doing what they can.
But, it is because of scumbags like good ol Joe that Dems have been marginalized.
He was EXACTLY like Ryan/Nunes when he was in the House in the 90s.
And, even today, he still does the "middle america" costal elites bullshit, 100 different ways.
He may be getting people all tingly now, but HE IS PART OF THE PROBLEM.

(6,399 posts)In comparison to other morning shows on at this time and considering his history? I don't see anyone else of his type being as blunt about what's going on. And that's worth paying attention to. He's no friend of Democrats but he's seemingly firmly in the country over party side and he's a useful tool to have.

(6,399 posts)But I didn't care much for him and how he handled the show. They were still trying to play things fairly evenly at the time.
Right now, I'm curious to see how a former Republican that's still largely a somewhat classic republican is talking to other conservatives. Scarborough is NOT talking to democrats and I'm fully aware of that. But I want to see what they're saying to others.
