"Nunes now seen as hero on hard right."

That's part of a headline I saw on today's NY Times. Seems to me he's in good company. Let's see: Joe McCarthy was a hero on the hard right; Nixon was a hero on the hard right; Ollie North was a hero on the hard right; Dick Cheney was a hero on the hard right. And, of course, let's not forget that The Oval Office Occupant is a hero of the hard right.

With people like these being, and having been, at or near the center of power in America, we don't need any foreign enemies. The hard right has been trying for decades to destroy everything decent about America. This time, they may just succeed. And if they do, I shudder to think of what might follow. Dictatorship? Revolution? Who knows?
