Question for those who watched the SOTU show the other night.

There's a LTE in this morning's paper stating Democrats didn't "stand to applaud our veterans and 'In God We Trust'.To me they looked like spoiled children who were poor losers. What a terrible example for our youth! I don't think we have to agree to be respectful."

Trying to understand if this came directly from Faux News pasting together pans of audience during the F**king Moron's comments and the pledge (is that the In God We Trust part?) or if the writer just dreamt it.

Did Democrats refuse to applaud or stand for veterans and/or the pledge?

the First Amendment kneel when the anthem is played.

Trump does not support the rights of Americans that are stated in the Constitution. The anthem is not mentioned in our Constitution. It was not adopted as our anthem until March 1931.

The pledge of allegiance was not adopted as our pledge until 1945.

I remember when the words of the pledge were changed during the Eisenhower administration in 1954 to include "under God."

Trump is an idiot and very superficial. I love the flag and the pledge, but they are superficial aspects of our country. Just superficial. A lot of fuss over symbols, and no understanding of the content, that's Trump.

Trump disrespects the First Amendment and the rights of free expression it protects but goes hogwild over "protecting" and "respecting" the ornaments of our democracy, the pledge and the anthem.

What a dummy he is. We need to get out there and elect Democrats in November.
