Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI Don't Get It - Why Would Anybody Risk Their Future Career & Reputation To Protect Trump?......
All these people from the primary campaign to the presidential campaign to the transition to the current staff at the WH.
Why would all the people that associated and still associate with Trump - risk their reputations and careers?
Why are the Repugs in Congress circling their wagons around this guy and continually protecting him - when it is apparent that an innocent person wouldn't act the way Trump is acting?
It just doesn't make sense to me that more people associated with Trump aren't abandoning him. The noose is tightening around Trump. Mueller is breathing down his neck - yet we get this display of protection around Trump with this bogus memo that Nunes and the Repug Party has released.
Can somebody explain this to me - I just don't get it.

(4,395 posts)Infiltration of our government by Russia doesn't stop at Donald Trump.
That's why the Mueller investigation is taking so long. He could have nailed Trump on obstruction of justice last summer. The man basically admitted to it on national news. The problem is in what order they need to go after Ryan, McConnell, Pence, Nunes and all of the other Republicans who are also obstructing justice, have also taken dirty campaign money, and are also carrying water for the Russian government.

(25,248 posts)Hatch a long time Senator, nearing the end of his career - but really saying that Trump is the Greatest President ever?
Or Hope Hicks - a young girl, with what could be a promising career, with her life ahead of her - saying that she'll take care of those e-mails.
Or General Kelly - a decorated soldier that fought for this country - lying for Trump.
These are just some examples - but go down the list of his cabinet. Go down the list of the Repugs in Congress - that - whether you agree with their stances on issues - worked hard to get elected and stay elected.
Where's their integrity? Don't they have any concern about their good names and reputation?
Why do they want to be associated with a traitorous criminal that might very well go down in history as the worst president ever?
Are we missing something? I hesitate to ask this - but could we all be wrong about Trump? Or have we experienced a coup d'tat in this country?

(63,849 posts)and just give you my comments but I am sure some other DU'ers will give you feedback also. My answers will be simply put.
1. Orrin Hatch-- was over the moon when they got their tax cuts, thus why he was in love with trump.
2. Hope Hicks not experienced in government matters, just got caught in the web, professed her alliance to trump they did have pet names for each other.
3. General Kelly just lying for trump this was discussed on Lawrence O'Donnell last night. Has not apologized to the Congresswoman he called a empty barrell or something like that. Extremely racist.
4. No integrity, they also touched on Paul Ryan an upcoming repig who has lost his way too.
As far as your last question if we are wrong about tRump, no we are not wrong with our conclusions about this POS, he is nothing but a con man, you know the rest.
A coup d'tat?? possibly but I will leave that to the professionals to give their final analysis on that. But my opinion is that Russia fingerprints are all over this. Plus you can research all your of questions that you have posted here.
please note: these are my opinions which can be totally different from yours. Cheers!

(25,248 posts)I asked the questions because I'm looking for opinions and I respect yours.
Look we are all entering territory that's never been encountered before. I think we are all looking for answers or explanations.
When I think about these people that surround Trump and continue to do his bidding - I wonder for them - Is this the way they want to go down in history?

(67,108 posts)Money, they want their jobs and also somehow see sticking with tRump as part of career advancement. And a number are probably in the same boat as tRump, Russian influence and money. And, some are authoritarians, and tRump is their authoritarian god, almost like a religion. And others are just trapped by life circumstances, whatever those are ...
