(11,257 posts)His best hope was to gut the DOJ and the FBI and to fill both agencies with lackeys. What happens at the DOJ is yet to be seen, but the FBI looks like it will be fully intact. And royally pissed at Trump.

(33,345 posts)Trump has been at it one year out of 4 (or, ugh, 8). "Done" is a long way from where we are.

(31,112 posts)I am asking, i dont know.
Remember, rule of law, etc., means NOTHING to them. Taking care not to harm the FBI, LAST thing he cares about

(2,434 posts)should quit if the memo was released as a show of defiance, but I think this is the better response and I am glad we will continue to have principled people in control.

(4,395 posts)Seriously, Wray. Stand by your agents publicly.

(37,648 posts)A personal communication to them. It has to do with their work and the office. He's reassuring them. He's not doing it for public consumption.

(4,395 posts)and when we got memos like this it was because we were being publicly attacked and our management didn't want to stand up for us in the press no matter how ill informed or unjust the attacks were. It's just breadcrumbs to the troops to make sure they don't mutiny while the public face of the organization nods and does nothing about public lies and misconceptions.
If he actually believed it, he would be telling the NYT, not sending an internal memo to be leaked to the NYT.

(4,395 posts)The NYT "obtained" the internal memo probably from a pissed off staff member who received in internally.
It doesn't change the fact that if Christopher Wray wanted to actually stand up for his staff there are a lot of ways he could have done it besides sending a memo to those staff internally as opposed to, you know, picking up the phone and saying what he had to say on the record to the press directly.

(1,074 posts)OK, countdown to how many minutes it will take tRUMP to start villifying Wray! After all the glowing tweets and statements he has made about Wray from the time that he brought Wray into the position of FBI director, now tRUMP will do his usual U-turn and turn on the hate!
