THE DREAMER WROTE:

.... I was in Washington D.C., that week before the shutdown when all but five Democrats in the House of Representatives voted against a temporary spending bill that did not include protections for Dreamers... .... We are forced to live with fear and uncertainty about our futures because lawmakers keep messing with our lives. We deserve the same dignity, peace and comfort enjoyed by those whose status goes unquestioned. ....

THE REPLIES:

1) If you are not here legally, (Congress member) does not represent you. No different than if I was living in Mexico without proper documentation and then foolishly expected Mexican legislators to represent me. Further, what would happen to me living in Mexico illegally, if I boldly took to the Mexican streets and started demonstrating for "imagined rights" that I perceived that I am owed by Mexico taxpayers? Your problems lie with your own parents' actions, and not the US legislators or citizens. By the way, if your parents are from Mexico, you automatically have citizenship there. (from Hispanic surname)

2) My sentiments exactly (#1). It is time for these 'Dreamers' to wake up and face reality. All should have applied for U.S. Citizenship long time ago. Furthermore, if these Dreamers are so productive and innovative in the U.S. then, they should return to their country and be productive and innovative and help their own countrymen be more productive and prosper in their country. So, boo-hoo 'Dreamers.' (from Hispanic surname)

3) I'm going to have to defend (the Congress members voting "no", who ) cannot be blamed for decades of government negligence or illegal immigration. Just because everyone agrees that it would be more equitable to "allow" Dreamers to stay doesn't justify prioritizing the interests of Dreamers who benefitted (free education and tax payer assistance) from the illegal acts of their parents. Dreamers are playing a political game and are being used as political fodder by both political parties for their own agendas. The smartest thing to do is to depreciate the political capital the parties have created with the Dreamers, as (the "no" voter) has done. I certainly don't want to hear that my representative, or I for that matter, have a duty to put the interests of illegals first. (from non-Hispanic surname)

4) AWE cry me a river!! You Democrap RATS make me SICK if you been living here for 15 years and never got a Green Card than you suck. You people are only milking the system, Free Walfare etc etc. The "RATS" Democraps are doing this to ONLY recuit future VOTERS that's all The RATS need more stupid people to vote for people like Lying Hillary or The closet Muslium OBAMA!! (from Hispanic surname)

5) Constituent: being a voting member of a community or organization and having the power to appoint or elect; an individual voter within an electoral district. I don't believe you qualify. (from Hispanic surname)

6) (Dear Dreamer: ) Make sure you and your family catch the next greyhound going south! (from Hispanic surname)

7) I think you should leave, I have a dream, that you go back to Mexico, and make Mexico Great Again. If you have so much time to travel, and not work on supporting yourself, then your time should have been spent getting over here legaly. Say Goodby, please. (from non-Hispanic surname)

who would rail against "illegals" saying that her parents immigrated legally in the 60's and that those that come over without documentation were "spitting in their faces".

Quite a sight to behold.
