New book. "The Unmaking of the President 2016" argues Comey's letter directly impacted 2016 vote

The author, on Morning Joe, talks about what a joke it is that the GOP is blackballing the FBI when they should be in fact thanking them for getting Trump elected. Says McCabe advised Comey to write the letter that destroyed Hillary's chance of getting elected. He says there is NO doubt Hillary would be President right now. Says his book PROVES Comey lost the election for Hillary.

it was Chaffetz leaking it to the media that caused the uproar.

But, I agree 100% that the letter and uproar threw the election to Trump. The letter was leaked not long after Trump was demolished in the third debate. After that, the WP Daily Tracking Poll had Clinton breaking 50% for the first time with a 51-38% lead. Her lead had been steadily increasing throughout October.

The day after the letter came out, the daily tracking poll swung to something like 44-43% for Trump, so a 13 point swing in 24 hours. While Clinton recovered and took a small lead the last few days, it wasn't nearly the same.

If there was no letter, I think Clinton's lead would have slowly climbed to an even bigger margin. Then, her coattails likely would have meant Feingold winning in Wisconsin, Toomey losing in PA and maybe Rubio and/or the guy in NC losing as well. And, Democrats likely gain 8-10-12 more seats in the House, if not more.

pure insanity that the FBI has an active investigation into the Trump treasonous activities, but only Hillary’s emails were deemed newsworthy to the public.

All a big pile-on to smear her character, and all it took was 75,000 people to decide that election. How ironic that Trump is now trying to destroy them after all they did for him.

I believe she would have won. And I believe that if the GOP still held the House, they would have started impeachment by now.
