How about they all get in the stands and Congress along with the Trump Administration crawl on their hands and knees to beg their forgiveness.

The W administration could perform in the 2nd wave.

"Thank you" and five bucks will get a latte at Starbucks.

How about something like "provide housing for homeless vets" instead?

don't make them march for their CIC.
Something tells me they'd rather see Tailor Swift in concert, or Keith Urban or something.

Some marching bands and an honor guard; fine - that happens all over, every Fourth of July. What Dolt 45 wants, though, isn't a parade to thank the men and women in uniform. He wants a parade where the men and women in uniform salute him. He wants to be able to think to himself, "This is MY army and these are MY tanks and MY planes and MY soldiers and they're bigger and badder than any other countries' (that includes YOU, France!), proving that MY dick is way bigger than Little Rocket Man's, and also Macron's." He wants the goose-stepping soldiers - lots of them - and the biggest tanks and artillery pieces to drive down Pennsylvania Avenue, chewing up the pavement, past the reviewing stand where he'll be, maybe even wearing a uniform he designed himself featuring lots of gold bling, and the soldiers will all have to turn toward him and salute him and the fighter jets will fly overhead, and Trump will come in his gold lamè uniform pants.

Is the entertainment line-up for the honorees better than the entertainment for Trump's inauguration?

As those brave men and women of the military to be honored are well aware of our country's vast weaponry supply and capability, no public display is necessary.

He can drive down PA Ave. in a flag-bedecked, gold-plated golf cart and salute the troops in the stands as he drives by.

The WH staff and legislators can follow behind him. Jared and Ivanka, or Melania, can push Trump in a wheel chair for the remainder of the route if he lacks stamina (but if Pelosi can stand in heels and talk for 8 hours this should be easy for Trump in such excellent medical condition according to his doctor).

The military should be in the stands.

And a typical butt kissing sycophant...the man made it all the way to bird colonel by kissing ass!!!

We already have two days in the year, Memorial and Veterans Day...where we honor our veterans! There are usually parades and special events all over the country...including here in D.C.!

If Graham wants to honor the best among us, maybe they could start by putting a stop to, back to back deployments, how about paying a living wage so military families don't qualify for food stamps, maybe better counseling for those with PTSD, or provide shelters for those veterans who are homeless, and how about better protection from harassment for our sisters who wear the uniform!

Those are better ways of honoring the military, not having them march down the street, so that Trump can do his Il Duce pose!!!

declaration that his penis is very tiny (that is, the military parade), we could pay rent for almost every homeless veteran in the country.

If they truly wanted to "honor" the troops, that is - then honor them by meeting their needs.

When we first retired, and before (for other retirees), we were promised - that's promised - we would not pay for medical treatments and prescriptions as long as we went to a military hospital (not to be confused with the VA). It was considered part of our retiree benefits.

We now (since Trump) have to pay for prescriptions filled on our local army post. Sure, it's not a lot - but one of the "benefits" was free prescriptions for retirees at a military hospital/pharmacy.

You can honor my husband's service by giving him back what was promised as a benefit.

Instead you want to have a parade that's actually for Dear Leader and call it honoring the troops. Like that in any way makes up for screwing with our earned benefits.

Fuck you, Graham.

Course, we are just retirees. You got those years from us and now want to treat us like we don't matter. My husband did have the temerity to survive war and y'all do hate that. Survivors mean even more benefits to pay out.

One thing that STILL makes me angry is how the future General MacArthur was the head of the troops which destroyed the "Bonus Army" encampment during the Depression.

43,000 WWI veterans and their families were there, they been promised bonuses in the form of certificates they could not redeem until 1945, but with the severity of the depression , they marched to the WH to ask for the checks *now*, and put up a tent city.

Hoover sent MacArthur to drive them away, with tanks and mounted soldiers, they were driven out, their possessions were burned, so they had nothing.

Congress DID give them the money in 1936. I can only wonder how many veterans died while waiting.
