A one or two percent drop invariably brings out the dull-witted "I don;t know why everyone's panicking!!! This is just a long overdue correction!" reaction by little guys who never explain why they bring up panic when no is panicking, or what a correction actually is.

That being said it will be hard for equity prices to rise in an environment of escalating interest rates.

I do know if interest rates rise it makes bonds more attractive and increases the cost of borrowing. Neither are good for equities.
