Smerconish: White House Is 'Counting On' People Being Too Confused to Really Look at Russia Details

CNN’s Michael Smerconish said this morning that the Trump White House is “counting on” all this Russia stuff being so “confusing” that people don’t actually look at the details of what’s really going on.

Last week Smerconish agreed with the consensus that the Nunes memo was a dud, even if there are troubling parts of it. And with the Democratic memo being withheld, he said, “Here’s what’s really going on. The Nunes memo didn’t live up to the hype. It was ultimately an embarrassment to all those who promoted it when we couldn’t see it.”

Smerconish again brought up how Republicans hyped the memo to “friendly outlets” and “media enablers” like Sean Hannity helped. But ultimately, he concluded, the White House’s goal is this:
