(33,467 posts)The FBI has to be suspicious and methodical to do the job required. It needs to be overseen by people who are keenly aware of the danger to the country that comes with the power of the bureau's investigative and data collection abilities.

(33,467 posts)Hoover was a shadow despot. He should have been removed decades earlier. He was, perhaps, the right one to build it, but definitely the wrong one to run it.
The head of the FBI needs to be someone who holds the Constitution as almost sacred, in order to avoid going power mad like J. Edgar.
