Two thoughts for a Sunday morning - one based on a Schiff statement on Maher's show

first thought - when the truth has been utterly busted and devalued and personal belief systems predominate....what's the answer? Decades ago it was simpler - it was Cronkite and Huntley/Brinkley and a few others (and Murrow before him) - people did more interacting, reading, thinking.

But now - when so much of the country never leaves its ideology bubbles and there is such a preponderance of right wing propaganda - what now? Schiff alluded to this. It is not easy to see what the fix can be, and infiltrated and impacts everything.

second thought - in past history, when dictators rose, it was often the US that became involved in the "liberation" (through wars, of course - sadly). Well, now we seem to have a teflon dictator, with US politicians either helpless or involved. Who will be there to save us from ourselves?

I don't mean these to be overly gloomy - but we have to be real about this and take stock of where we are. We are hearing, seeing, witnessing things that I am sure all of us here thought not possible. But....anything is possible.

OK - on to more pleasant thoughts and activities. Have a great rest of the weekend, all.
