Only a draft dodger like Cadet Bone Spurs would think that anyone

in the military would like to be in a parade. When I served we had Brigade Parades every payday and they were a gigantic pain in the ass and waste of time. We eventually got a new Brigade Commander who got rid of them and so we could use the time for actual training. He was cheered throughout my infantry battalion.

He wants hundreds of soldiers to goose-step before him and salute him because it's all about glorifying him and his power. Too bad if it's a miserable experience for them.

Here's what the streets should look like for Herr Trump's big military parade:

commented after an article in my local paper about this ridiculous parade that Comrade Donnie wants. I asked why we can't take the money that it would cost and honor our military by giving it to the VA instead.

Of course, I was assailed by the usual conservative zealots for expressing "typical liberal hate" for our armed forces, and for being unpatriotic.... A few of them said, " It's obvious that you never served." (implying that THEY have).

Well, no, I've never served. But I've read comments by many who have, like you, kairos12, who think these kinds of parades are a big waste of time and a pain in the ass. Thank you for confirming for me that not all military members look forward to being Comrade Donnie's ego prop.

the Soviets at bay. The fact Drumpt has sold out to the Russians is beyond infuriating. He is a draft dodging disgrace (the 3 Ds) and many veterans feel as I do.

Most likely none of the people responding to you have never served either. If they had, they would realize what a pathetic joke the idea of a military parade is.

and the whole Cadet Bone Spurs meme. Trump would shit his pants if he had to replace any of them for a day, but still he longs to play Kim Jong Un for a day and send tanks and missiles down the street.
