There is a special election in PA 18 on March 13 to fill the congressional seat vacated by Tim Murphy who resigned in disgrace when it was revealed that he urged the woman with whom he was having an extramarital affair to have an abortion.
The Republicans are running a Trump Republican, Rick Saccone who has received the official endorsement of the NRA. Rick is also a big supporter of TORTURE. He is running a very dirty and negative campaign and in a district that Trump won by almost 20 points. Our candidate Conor Lamb, is within three points of Saccone with a large number of undecided voters and a 5 % margin of error.
Check Conor Lamb's website and please consider making a donation if you can afford to.

(13,225 posts)Saccone has an A+ rating from NRA-PVF. This is the highest possible rating a candidate can attain, and is reserved for only those with excellent voting records on critical Second Amendment issues.
Among his many accomplishments, Rick helped bring Castle Doctrine legislation to Pennsylvania and sponsored a bill to expand the rights of law-abiding citizens to carry firearms for self-defense.

(13,225 posts)and Saccone is dirty.
Saccone who claims to be a fiscal conservative has spent more than $435,000 through his expense account over seven years in the PA state house. He has billed the taxpayers a per diem even on days he and his wife are being lavishly entertained by lobbyists.
Lamb is outfundraising Saccone, but Saccone has a lot of outside groups running ads for him.
To be running within the margin of error in this district is big.

(15,090 posts)But I live in the city of Washington near the college, so my neighborhood leans very democratic. I was up in Peters Township in McMansion land today and was shocked by the number of Saccone signs. Its like those people think a McMansion makes them part of the 1%.

(4,226 posts)We need to win this in PA. We met Conor Lamb at a fundraiser last week and he seems like a great guy. Saccone is running such dirty ads about him...even mocking his last name.

(12,322 posts)It's disgusting that he's charging taxpayers $175 a day (over 700 times) while being fed by lobbyists on a daily basis.
BTW, a double-dipper like Saccone gets to pocket the per diem he doesn't spend. No wonder Saccone wants to keep on being a career politician.
