...Damn she's amazing! Got me all teared up, she's passionate about this and just called out the NRA and trump. And now she's talking about Obama's order that has since been repealed.
They just put up her name, she's Emma Gonzalez.
You've got to find this video once it's posted somewhere.

(15,552 posts)It's going to have to be the women and the younger generation who step up and take back our country and change the laws to restrict the sale of assault rifles or any gun and to rewrite the second amendment to reflect today's realities.
Notice how she has no problem calling out Trump personally and his connection to the NRA and their blood stained money. Forget out lame assed media who tiptoe around the truth.
Brave and courageous young woman. You are amazing!

If you want ratings, media, cover these rallies. They are awesome examples of democratic activism.

I guess it's going to take a bunch of kids to remind the adults what America is all about. And it's high time.
You go, and THANK YOU.

(34,086 posts)How many times prior to your 19th birthday did you give a well-researched, organized, nuanced, impassioned yet poised speech to a grieving nation?
Even if your answer is that you did it dozens of times (which would be pretty amazing), I don't get why you need to diminish what is the most impressive speech by a teenager I've heard in a long time. Acknowledging that reality takes nothing away from how amazing it is each time that someone so chronologically young steps up to fill a leadership vacuum.

(6,246 posts)Some of these kids will be eligible to vote either in 2018 or 2020, and they are not going to weasel out. They've been too close to it, they're tech-savvy, and they're at that age when rebellion comes naturally. And many of them have totally lost respect for what's being passed off as government. This will be their country someday, and they want it.

On Wednesday night, conservative commentator Tomi Lahren took to Twitter, saying it was too early to talk about gun control.
"Can the Left let the families grieve for even 24 hours before they push their anti-gun and anti-gunowner agenda? My goodness. This isn't about a gun it's about another lunatic," she wrote.
Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Student Caryl Novell quickly responded.
"I was hiding in a closet for two hours. It was about guns. You weren't there, you don't know how it felt. Guns give these disgusting people the ability to kill other human beings," Novell said. "This IS about guns and this is about all the people who had their life abruptly ended because of guns."
Thank you, Sancho
