(11,949 posts)By not conceding after it was clear he had lost he unintentionally insured that there would be huge turmoil at the convention leaving many of his supporters ripe for harvesting my Russian propaganda later in the summer. Just the other day here on DU a long time member who rarely shows up made the rigged primary claim which Bernie just admitted was ginned up by the Russians.
I bet if he had it to do over he would choose differently.
And his interview today reflects highly on him. If only our president has a pinch of the honesty Bernie has.

(11,949 posts)And what does that have to do with anything?
Do you dispute my assertion? If so, I am open to hearing a counter argument. I may be wrong. But bring up an incorrect fact about Hillary in 2008 is not germane to the conversation at hand. As a matter of fact, it look a little bit like deflection.

(5,272 posts)Sanders supporters who went for Clinton, which was very high(and he had cross-over appeal so some who didn't were very likely to have never been willing to vote for Clinton), I doubt his staying in the race impacted the GE results.
But had he not stayed in the Democratic party would have been happy to help him and his message fade away. The centrist direction won the day, and any progressive rhetoric that Sanders was championing was an inconvenience that the DNC would have simply moved past. Its because he stayed in that Clinton and the DNC recognized that it was necessary to court progressives by adopting the most progressive platform it has had. Its because Sanders stayed in that 15 or so Senators supported his medicare for all bill, giving that cause(albeit slightly) more national attention. Its because he stayed in that Corey Booker and Gilibrand just announced that they will not be taking pac money. Because they are gearing up to run for President, and what that means on the Democratic ticket today is not what it has meant in previous cycles.

(11,949 posts)We will never know if the Russian meddling swung the election but it sure was close. If the drive even 1% away it could be the cause

(2,276 posts)Bernie condemned Russia for using social media to hurt Hillarys candidacy. Some on DU still bash him every chance they get. The election is long over, but it seems they are still trying to divide progressives, almost like they are Russian bots.
