I don't have live TV at the moment... And recently found www.livenewsus.com based on a search and recommendation from a DU post by RKP5637...

Is this worth signing up for for $2.99 a month?
Thanks in advance for your advice/caveats.

(6,568 posts)They are selling a product (streaming cable channels) without permission. Their privacy policy is poorly written as well.
I would definitely not give them your credit card info.

(4,919 posts)They are broadcasting ads, however, which makes me seem like they must have some agreement with certain broadcasters... And, they've been around for a while without being shut down.
Thanks, Dr Hobbitstein!

(6,568 posts)Or just hijacking the live feed (which would contain commercials) and reselling it.
Both would still be illegal.
Their website is registered under a generic privacy organization, not an individual or a legit corporation. I would not use it at all. Highly suspect.
ETA, as far as the site's longevity: The Pirate Bay has been around for over a decade.

(4,919 posts)It's more expensive... $40 per month, but legit.
Thanks, again, for your input.

(1 post)Wow! The hoops I had to jump through just to reply to this post...
I just wanted to say that if you have a wireless network, and a Roku, and your Android phone has a "Cast Screen" or "Screen Mirroring" setting, then you can watch the feed on your TV that way. This is not as complicated as it sounds.
A Caveat or two: You will also need to set Sleep mode on your android to "Never"
One more thing. There are at least two of these websites:
livenewsus.com and livenewson.com
They appear to be the same company.
