Was a substitute teacher for first graders today. Topic: Presidents' Day

And on the last page of their little booklets was a picture (to color) of #45 with a blurb that he ran for president because he wanted to help people and he was going to do that by creating jobs.

Feeling the bile rise in my throat, it quickly subsided as a murmur among three little boys became audible. One was repeating under his breath, "I don't like Donald Trump. I don't like Donald Trump. I don't like Donald Trump." Another one just exclaimed "Donald Trump is the dumbest president in history!" The third one just moaned, "Donald Trump! Oh nooooooo!"

The regular teacher tried to quell the dissent by saying "We don't share political opinions in school . . . . "

Too late.

This may become the 2018 Children's Crusade.

She'll go, "Our president now is Donald *TRUMP.* Why is Donald *TRUMP* even the president?"

It's hard to explain without hearing it in her voice, but it pretty much sums up my feelings too.
