If you could buy government for $40, would you? Well, that is exactly what the 1% are doing. $100M to the Koch brothers, or Adleson is the equivalent of $40 to the average American family.
Kind of makes you think that its hopeless, but WE DO HAVE POWER!
Imagine that for just 1 day, Americans making less than $250K a year in TAXABLE INCOME called in sick for a day?
Imagine if the 99% shrugged?
Of course, the Tea-baggers who make $40-45K a year and have identified the enemy as their fellow Americans making 43-50K a year would never join in. Neither would the idiot Repuke voters who gleefully continue to vote against their own interests, but WE DONT NEED THEM!
Ive often thought that the only way to get the attention of the politicians is to organize a mass walk-out.
Tired of stagnant wages?
Tired of corporations and the wealthy buying our government?
Tired of the tired-ass job creator bullshit????
Then lets show the bastards who the real effing Job Creators are!
When you get right down to it
the 1% needs the 99% a hell of a lot more than we need them
When is enough, ENOUGH?

(3,575 posts)Imagine if those claiming to be the 99% were actually comprised of the 99% instead of just 1 or 2 percent. Something would actually get done then.
As it stands now, America would do just fine if coffee shops closed for a day.

(12,754 posts)They can do this in Europe because they still have unions. In the US, most employees are employees at will. This means they can be fired for any reason. In fact, the boss doesn't even have to say why they're being fired. They couldn't or wouldn't fire everybody, of course. But they would just have to fire enough to make a point.

Do you believe government is obligated to provide jobs for an "individual's welfare" when our Constitution only speaks about "General Welfare"?
Not new questions and others have already given their opinions but what is your opinion?
