(1,822 posts)If Trump truly is worth the $10 billion figure he quotes, writing a "six figure check" would be like someone with a million dollars in the bank writing a check for $1000. Nice, but nothing overly generous that it should create an everlasting bond.
Personally what I have seen in Trump, is that for all of his shortcomings, and they are many, he is a master of marketing himself to be something to everyone. He finds what they want and then becomes that. For instance, after the Vegas shooting I believe, he had a speech from the WH where he said something like, "scripture tells us..." whereas Pres Obama would say "in the Bible it says.." if he would quote the bible at all. Now to many on here you dont see any significance in that at all. But as someone who's attended church I can tell you, they identify w/ language like this...it sounds like something a pastor would say, whereas "in the bible" anyone might say. Plus I have a feeling many in the evangelical right saw their grip on society fading quickly under Obama so here comes Trump saying things they agree with and not pushing a social left agenda so they dont care what he is as a person, he's a blessing b/c to them the country hasnt lost its soul.
