Or maybe they meant Kushner for all his great international peace work!!

This is not US based, there is no way. Even though I keep mistaking reality for satire since late 2016.

And, before you criticize me for using that term, keep in mind that I'm referring to Howard Stern using it while interviewing Cheetolini, and he -- her own father! -- not objecting.

Names of nominees are kept secret for 50 years by the Committee

Of course, anyone can tell you they've nominated somebody for the Prize, but not everyone is actually qualified to nominate a person for the Prize

PRIO is situated in the same city as the Nobel Institute, but has no formal links to it. However, since no one at the Nobel Institute can indulge in commenting, and the nominators are requested not to publish their proposals, the (current) PRIO Director is every year asked by a number of journalists to comment on potential candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize ...

Trump nominated for 2018 Nobel Peace Prize
FEBRUARY 1, 201810:09 PM
... "Trump has been nominated by an American," Henrik Urdal, Director of the Peace Research Institute Oslo said. The institute is unaffiliated with the Nobel Prize. Urdal said the argument made for Trump was similar to last year’s, citing Trump’s "peace through strength ideology" ...

As mentioned above, it's not awarded till October. The only outlet I've seen give him any chance of winning (or indeed mentioned the prize and him in the same breath recently) is the South China Morning Post.

Among the people who can nominate someone:

University professors, professors emeriti and associate professors of history, social sciences, law, philosophy, theology, and religion; university rectors and university directors (or their equivalents); directors of peace research institutes and foreign policy institutes

A professor at the School of Law or School of Divinity of one of our more prominent madrassas - Liberty, Campbell, BJU, Regent - could very well have put Trump in for the Nobel Peace Prize. It doesn't mean the bastard will get it.
