Bernie Sanders's son launches congressional bid in New Hampshire

http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/375736-bernie-sanders-son-launches-congressional-campaign-in-new-hampshire

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’s (I) son, Levi, announced Monday he is running for the open House seat in New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District.

“For over 17 years, I have represented the working class who have been beaten up by the system. It is time to demand that we have a system which represents the 99 percent and not the 1 percent who have never had it so good,” Levi Sanders said in a statement on his campaign website.

Sanders, a legal services analyst, is proposing policies similar to those championed by his father, including a “Medicare for all health system,” tuition-free college, a higher minimum wage and more.

His candidacy was first reported by WMUR in Vermont.

Sanders, 48, is running to replace Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-Vt.), who is not seeking re-election. Sanders joins a field of seven Democrats and three Republicans vying for the seat.

He does not technically reside in the 1st District, though by law he is only required to live in the state.

I read seven different links and his own web site never mentioned party affiliation, that is strange. I appreciate the link, diva.

Though it also shows the challenges he faces. Not being from the district is one. Also: From Your Link. He is late into the race...and

Another challenge: many of Bernie Sanders’ political consultants are currently working for the campaign of another Democratic candidate -- state Rep. Mark McKenzie. When ABC News asked one of Sanders' top aides during the 2016 race, who is based in New Hampshire and helped the Vermont senator win handily there, what he thought of Levi Sanders running, he responded with a giant thumbs-down emoji.

It will be an interesting race, again I thank you for the link, diva.

On edit:

After doing a bit of my own research, it looks like there are some actual, real democrats running in this race:

https://ballotpedia.org/New_Hampshire%27s_1st_Congressional_District_election,_2018

Mark S. Mackenzie - State Rep.[10]
Deaglan McEachern[11]
Mindi Messmer - State Rep.[12]
Terence O'Rourke[13]
Chris Pappas[14]
Levi Sanders[15]
Lincoln Soldati[16]
Maura Sullivan

In my quick review, I've been most impressed with, in this order: Maura Sullivan, Mark S. Mackenzie, Terence O'Rourke, and Mindi Messmer. If I had to narrow it down at this point, I'd probably make it Maura and Mark, with Maura getting my contributions.

There's plenty of information at the link. Let's talk about who else is running, and see who to focus on.

There is a small cadre here who have a very Pavlonian-esque response to hearing the name "Sanders." It's eerily similar to that of many of those on the Right when they here the name "Clinton." They can be counted on to swarm these threads and show a consistent and predictable response. Easily manipulated.
