CNN's Chris Cuomo incredulous after Carter Page says US interfered more than Russia in election

CNN's Chris Cuomo appeared in disbelief on Tuesday after Carter Page, a former Trump campaign adviser, suggested that the U.S. government interfered in the 2016 presidential election more than Moscow did.

In an interview on CNN's "New Day," Page said that "all the evidence" that he has seen suggests efforts by the U.S. to interfere in other countries' politics, pointing to Radio Free Europe, the U.S.-backed broadcaster, as an example.

"All the evidence I’ve seen so far, Chris, indicates that there is much more interference from the US government than the Russian government," Page told Cuomo.

"You think that the United States government interfered in this last election more than the Russians did?" Cuomo asked. "Why deny that Russia was trying to mess with our election? Why do that?" Cuomo asked.

"Look, I have no evidence," Page replied.

BTW I've seen this talking point on FB. It's a whataboutism citing our history in Chile Iraq and several other countries in the post WWII era.

The kind of publisher who sells Bill O'Reilly, Ann Coulter and other right wing authors. Generally what will happen is that the first week after the book is out someone will buy the 9,000 copies it takes to put it on the NYT Best Sellers list. The number is 3,000 copies in the first week for the Wall Street Journal. Hell, the Koch brothers probably have that much in their sock drawers.

In this case, such a book could serve as another diversion from the Russia investigations, as well as provide more talking points for the GOP and Trump's sycophants.

Meanwhile, Mueller keeps plugging along...
