If American automobile manufacturers have to pay a higher cost for steel, by buying imported steel with a 25% tariff or the higher priced American steel, yet foreign auto makers, building cars in their own country, pay far less for steel, won't that put American auto makers at a distinct disadvantage, right here in the U.S. market?
Will there by a tariff on manufactured goods that are produced using foreign steel? And, if so, won't that be a huge cost on consumers?
I'm big on buy American, but has this whole tariff plan been well thought out, or is this moron shooting from the hip?

A much bigger tariff on steel or aluminum from specific target countries including trumps' beloved russia that would have targetted the actual offenders

That said, Trump is one of the last people who should be setting economic policy. So much of what he touches oft-times turns to shit.
