Gallup tried polling me tonight!

Emphasis on the word TRIED.

I wouldn't answer the questions the way THEY wanted, so I was told I was being "uncooperative" and they hung up on me.

Can you blame me?

The questions were horrendously slanted towards slamming Obama and letting Rmoney off the hook.

Is it any wonder these "unbiased scientific" (har har) polls show Rmoney running close to Obama in approval?

See, this way the race is "close" and the media outlet that hires polling companies can bring in more ratings $$$.

2. Got an example of the questions? Too bad you couldn't have recorded all of it.

I remember years ago being called up by a 'pro-life' survey. When I didn't answer the way they wanted, they hung up.

I wish there was a way to publicize the Gallup polling bias.

6. I got a "push" poll call before our county election.

One of those innocent sounding calls that started off like a market research survey but in the middle revealed it was for one of the candidates.
The key question was along the lines of: "if you knew that ( the Dem candidate) had donated to
( an unfavorable element) would you be inclined to :
vote for them ( ( who was a Dem)
vote for the opponent ( who was a Repub)
not vote at all...

Once they had revealed who the poll was supporting, I told the "survey" taker that now i knew it was a push poll, it made me more determined to vote for the Dem, who had NOT been doing push polls.

Interestingly, the phone survey became known enough that the Repub candidate felt compelled to publicly deny they had ordered it, which no one believed.
and sadly, because this is a Republican town, the Dem candidate lost the race, by a close margin.
( around here, "close" is something like 75 votes)

7. Hard to say if we blame you, since you didn't say what the questions were. But believe the polls.

I remember how no one would believe the polls before the 2004 election, that Kerry's trajectory was downward and not looking good. "No way!" "It's the way the questions are worded!" Including me. If one had believed the polls, they would not have been surprised that Kerry lost the election.

The fact that some people are OKAY with the way the questions are worded, as opposed to a liberal not being okay with that, tells you something right there.
