(14,167 posts)I have investments, so this makes me sad. But, in this capitalistic, greedy society, this is about the only thing that Americans understand... $$$$. When they start to feel the pinch, maybe they will start putting pressure on their elected Republican officials to remove the Traitor-in-Chief.

(14,565 posts)As you indicate, the market is up a massive amount over the past year or more. Investors understood that 2018 likely wouldn't come close to matching 2017, and likely would have rough patches. The January surge provided some cushion and we've had the dip followed up ups and downs subsequently.
Nobody is panicking. Trump's status is not impacted. I can't imagine otherwise intelligent people wasting time desperately rooting for the stock market to go down.
It is a losing proposition.

And then over the next day or two, it completely bounces back.
