So they are only furious about the leak?..
Trump furious over the leak of his own inability to stand up to Putin...he immediately started scanning TV channels in a an effort to start
re-staffing his National Security team with TV hosts...

President Donald Trump was infuriated after it quickly leaked that he had been directly instructed by his national security advisers in briefing materials not to congratulate Russian President Vladimir Putin on his recent election victory during their call Tuesday morning, a source familiar with the President's thinking said.
Trump was fuming Tuesday night, asking his allies and outside advisers who they thought had leaked the information, noting that only a small group of staffers have access to those materials and would have known what guidance was included for the Putin call, the source said.
According to the source, the incident resurfaces his long-held belief there are individuals inside his administration -- especially in the national security realm -- who are actively working to undermine him.
White House chief of staff John Kelly also is furious that a confidential presidential briefing became public knowledge, a White House official said, and intends to address the matter Wednesday as aides try to figure out who disclosed the warning.

(22,045 posts)They're not upset that Trump didn't follow the prudent advice of his national security advisors.
What a crew of weirdos.

(10,839 posts)Putin and his pals preempted any leak from the WH itself because they spilled the beans, gleefully exposing the Trumpster as a Russian toe sucker. Then it was cleanup in the West Wing, in terms of 'how do we handle the election congrats with the press, the public?'
Depending on your inclination, an insider either leaked the remaining info--the Trumpster was advised not to congratulate, was advised to strongly rebuke on the Brit/Russian poisoning scandal--because they wanted the public to know the truth, or . . . they wanted the public to know that the Trumpster's advisors were not responsible for the SNAFU.
Either way, it works for Putin whose main aim is to sow discord and distrust within the American system for all things American--traditions, values, ideals, institutions. We do not congratulate dictators for a sham election.
The Russians have the perfect vehicle in Donald Trump because of his incompetence, arrogance and cognitive deficiencies. Also, IMHO, his fear of broader exposure. Putin has something, maybe a lot of somethings on the Trumpster. The man's behavior points continually in that direction.

So if this was leaked by President Trump's boss it wouldn't be the first time

(42,770 posts)that only would be known by someone inside WH. Remember just last week? when they knew Trump was mad at Sarah for something else she did?
Wonder who it is.
Something dawned on me today. I think of people who only watch Fox as being fed a select amount of information. A big event happens that you see on CNN and MSNBC and you click to Fox and they don't even mention it. Our "president" is being a Fox president ! Limited information. You can tell when he does something that he never heard all the facts nor the pros and cons of something.

(111,110 posts)It shows the degree to which Trump has complete control over the information coming from the White House. There is still one or two people that have not collapsed under the pressure.

Without involving any nuclear exchanges, however.

(111,110 posts)...no one had mentioned his call to Putin. Then he could trust that he had complete control over all the information coming out of the Executive Branch, truthful or not.
