I was a Mormon, and I participated in baptism of the dead when I was just a teen. They would bus us to the nearest temples and dunk each of us multiple times before reading off a name. I know for a fact Mormons bragged about baptizing Jews and victims of the Holocaust. Yes, it is a legitimate question.

But they may not choose to delve into religious issues with a potential American President. Remember the area is the birthplace of three major world religions. Judaism, Christianity and Islam in that order.

For all I know they may think the Mormon religion is nothing more than a cult compared to theirs.

...and does not have the influence in the general culture that the older desert cults do. Mormonism should be challenged and debunked. We cannot do that with the older ones. It's too late. They are entrenched. But the new ones (all of them) should be nipped in the bud.

All cults by their nature foster insanity.

it would be a very fair question to ask
a high ranking clergyman like Romney.

It's not a permanent position as it is in other cults. A bishop commonly serves four to seven years.

An ex-LDS DU member taught me about this a while ago.

Today was the sabbath, and sundown Saturday to sundown Sunday is a memorial holiday (Tisha b'Av) where work is forbidden (the online papers will be static - no work can be done) and he has already reneged and blocked the media from his event Monday.

He leaves later Monday for Poland.

This man isn't going to be caught by so much as a cellphone camera, much less the media until he is back on US soil.

He may not get off that easily. Here is a snippet of an article posted late Saturday night on the Haaretz website:

A funny thing happened to Mitt Romney on the way to Israel

After his Olympian snafu in London, Romney’s main aim is no longer to court Jews, but to avoid further controversy.

And I agree that it's convenient that he arrives in Israel in the midst of the sabbath.
