He is a high standing member of a church that has done that to holocaust victims, right?
This is an honest question.

(18,672 posts)I was a Mormon, and I participated in baptism of the dead when I was just a teen. They would bus us to the nearest temples and dunk each of us multiple times before reading off a name. I know for a fact Mormons bragged about baptizing Jews and victims of the Holocaust. Yes, it is a legitimate question.

For all I know they may think the Mormon religion is nothing more than a cult compared to theirs.

(1,262 posts)...and does not have the influence in the general culture that the older desert cults do. Mormonism should be challenged and debunked. We cannot do that with the older ones. It's too late. They are entrenched. But the new ones (all of them) should be nipped in the bud.
All cults by their nature foster insanity.

(22,143 posts)It's not a permanent position as it is in other cults. A bishop commonly serves four to seven years.
An ex-LDS DU member taught me about this a while ago.

(26,219 posts)Today was the sabbath, and sundown Saturday to sundown Sunday is a memorial holiday (Tisha b'Av) where work is forbidden (the online papers will be static - no work can be done) and he has already reneged and blocked the media from his event Monday.
He leaves later Monday for Poland.
This man isn't going to be caught by so much as a cellphone camera, much less the media until he is back on US soil.

(3,577 posts)He may not get off that easily. Here is a snippet of an article posted late Saturday night on the Haaretz website:
After his Olympian snafu in London, Romneys main aim is no longer to court Jews, but to avoid further controversy.
