I got mostly shrugs from our kids about dumping FB because lots of their friends and relatives post pictures through FB (the reason my account isn't already canceled), but also because there's no really good place yet, known to be secure, to go to.
That'll change.

(7,911 posts)And no, I won't provide a link to it because it's for family and a very few close friends. We share pix of kids and grandkids and family events. Nobody outside the family would be the least bit interested in it.

(5,914 posts)It was actually pretty cool, and I was able to interact with a lot of my friends with it.
Of course, it took some effort and know-how to produce and maintain. Facebook requires neither, which is why it's a vast wasteland of crap.

(1,822 posts)I went back a year ago to see if my profile was still active. Everything looked like time had stopped in 2009. Its basically a music site now, I think Timberlake bought it at some point. But wouldnt the same problems still exist there too?
