Austin police: Conditt made 25-minute recording and confessed to bombings; no motive

6:11 p.m. update: Officials found a 25-minute recording left behind by Mark Conditt, the suspect in the Austin bombing, in which he confesses to being behind the bombings, iterim police chief Brian Manley said in a press conference Wednesday night.

In the recording, Conditt described the devices he used during the bombings in Central Texas, Manley said. The seven devices include four that exploded in Austin, one that detonated at a FedEx facility in Schertz, one that was retrieved from a FedEx facility in Southeast Austin near the airport, and one that the suspect detonated in his car, killing himself early Wednesday, authorities have said.

"I would classify this as a confession," Manley said.

The phone was found in Conditt's possession after he killed himself early Wednesday with an explosive device as authorities closed in.
